3iCare - Med-iForms

3iCare Med-iForms, is an integrated environment for designing and processing hand-printed forms using Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technology. Manual data entry from hand-printed forms is very time consuming. In situations where hospitals and clinics often have to deal with very large volumes of application forms, our Med-iForms has the potential of improving efficiency using state of the art technology. The core of the system consists of Artificial Neural Networks that perform the recognition of the character images extracted from the form.

The user interface has been designed to effectively interact and perform desired tasks with adequate ease. It has been developed using Java and acts as front end for initiating and executing the various tasks that together constitute form processing. The tasks have been implemented in a multi-threaded fashion. Consequently, the user can switch from one panel to another while processing in the panels is in progress. The design is highly modular.
